I can post pics and write some reviews if you're interested. Of course, feel free to share your own experiences with FPs!

I don't have a fountain pen. I don't see how that would work, with it shooting ink out constantly and all. Must be hard to write with. Seems like it would make a mess. Plus you'd need a pretty large source of ink, otherwise the pen would run out of it in like a second.

I think you are confusing fountain pens with dip pens. FPs do not "shoot ink out constantly", nor are they hard to write with. They don't even use that much ink; a roller uses a pretty much similar amount of ink in a refill.

RE: Fountain Pens
I love fountain pens.  My biggest complaint about the FP community is that many, if not most, FP users are religious nuts.  Why is this?  I had to select to not see user "tag lines" on Fountain Pen Network just to tolerate using the site.  I'm quite thankful that it is an option. Is it due to early writing and illuminated manuscripts being primarily of a religious nature?  I'm attending the Ohio Pen Show next month, but fear that I'll end up so turned off by the religiosity of the attendees that it may be difficult to enjoy.  The possibility won't stop me from attending, but it will be interesting to see how pervasive and irritating it is.  I'll report back with my observations.  Thoughts?

The blunt pencil community is a bit more laid back, fortunately...

As a matter of fact, there was a time when I used nothing but. Now, that most of writing is typing, I don't bother anymore. If I have to scribble anything down, I reach for the first ballpen I find. But I still have my fountain pens stored in my grandfather's oak box.

Sorry. Will only use a Pilot G2. OCD/anal thing.
