Ehh what is this?

Ehh what is this?
I've heard someone say this today:

We all know that we only have to call them :atheus: and we are already beating the atheist on a internet debate.

Emm, is this some kind of slang or something? Does atheus has some deeper meaning or offensive tone that I'm unaware of?

It's latin and it means male atheist, no? I'm not sure why that indicates that anyone is winning anything, except maybe a guerre des langues...

An obscure reference to Theodorus, perhaps? He was referred to as 'Atheus'. Maybe to misrepresent all atheists as hedonists?

Whoa, watch out then, they are hauling out the big guns. Better become Christian before they find something in the Apocrypha which could be used to insinuate a subtle reference to yo mama.

How does that denote winning the debate?

It doesn't but it probably gives the disingenuous theist some way to dismiss the argument in their own mind.

Okay I asked and apparently atheus is a term that it's commonly said in spanish speaking language. So I assume that, that's the reason of why any of you don't know it(So I felt a little silly for asking you guys, sorry). But then they told me that it's a common term that most of all world religious debaters know since the person I asked said that she has heard foreign people use it.
Then I asked: yeah but what does it mean.
And she said: I don't remember correctly but you're the atheist one you should know it.

I'm gonna be honest with you guys. I'm starting to feel a little frustrated.

Must be some slang, the spanish word is ateísta, or ateo.
