RE: TFoot vs. Molyneux...
"But I'm a libertarian and I'm not part of that movement, I don't agree with their principles" Too bad, the trademark got jacked, time to start thinking of a different name for the group. Perhaps Noam can help you out.

Quote:Let me just say regarding the terminology, since we happen to be in the United States, we have to be rather careful. Libertarian in the United States has a meaning which is almost the opposite of what it has in the rest of the world traditionally. Here, libertarian means ultra right-wing capitalist. In the European tradition, libertarian meant socialist. So, anarchism was sometimes called libertarian socialism, a large wing of anarchism, so we have to be a little careful about terminology."
B-mine. I feel for the True Libertarians™ - but thems the breaks, and the Fake Libertarians™ are the movement that Hitchens is referring to, and what the term is taken to mean in our current political environment...specific to the US, of course.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Sad but true. That's why there are left libertarians, Post Nationalists and Natural Capitalists.

I have realized that Chomsky has a misunderstanding of laissez faire capitalism. It's not corporate control of the state. It is not state protected corporations. When the state controls industry or when industry controls the state you have fascism. We have a mix of both and that's what's called the iron triangle.

I never liked Ron Paul until I heard him out by trying to debunk his theories. I realized that I agreed with him on more nonpartisan issues than the democrats I voted for. There's a good reason corporate lobbyists wouldn't fund him.
god is supposed to be imaginary
