The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)

Abaris is Austrian

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

TGAC was cool, but I think he got a bit weird towards the end, and he got banned. I remember it. He was an angry dude. Cool, but angry. I wonder about him sometimes, too.

You mean Abaris?

Abaris is not banned and the door he went is open for his return. And he is or was (he was an old fart) Austrian. For some reason he disliked the forum and went to TTA.

Did you not like abaris?

Of course I did.  I still chat with him when I bump into him at TTA.  Its just that I don't spend much time over there.

Nope.  I had no problem with him at all.  And like L/P said he can come back whenever he wants.

Why did he leave

I don't know.  If he had wanted to tell me he would have.  He got pissed at something or someone, I suppose.

Sometimes it's a realization that one just doesn't fit in the forum, for any number of reasons that don't have to involve a flaming exit, but just discontinuation of membership. Doesn't need fanfare. I rage quit a forum before, many years ago. Nowadays, I just take a walk. If it gets too intense in ways I don't like, the internet is big enough a place to set down roots elsewhere. This place is one that has some things I don't like, but nothing that makes me want to leave- just to shake my head. Before anyone asks, it ain't the management. If anyone actually cares, they can try to figure out what I don't like for themselves. At some point a person has to be big enough to ignore some things, to enjoy the remainder.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I was on a site a few years ago I liked, but it was just so slow. We get more posts here in an hour than that one did in a week. Just couldn't take the slow pace of it, despite the usually good content.
