Please let us know what method you are using in order to determine which are the things and which are the bad.

Why do so many 'good Christians' come to different conclusions about which are the bad things that can be discarded, and which are the good things should be followed?

How do you know that some of the things you are discarding are not some of the things that are needed to get you into heaven?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Therefore, why would you abandon the OT selectively or at all?

Because Paul gave them license to wipe their asses with Jesus' (and all Jews') holy scripture. If some part of the OT is congenial to them, they'll embrace it. As for the rest, they either disregard it or pay it lip service, which only goes to show that they don't understand the first fucking thing about the man they claim to worship and adore.

Christian, your religion is just as bad as Islam. The followers of your religion however, are not. I wouldn't ever attempt to tally up all the bad things in the bible and the koran and compare the totals, but i'm pretty sure that they are both equally full of death and torture.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

Yeah, with the "no true Scotsman" fallacy. That would be a logic FAIL.

How do you know those killers were not instructed by god to do so?

Precisely: Selecting the parts they think should apply to them and ignoring the rest. It's like the ones who quote Leviticus against marriage equality but ignore the rest because it's inconvenient for them.

God would not advocate killing.

Baaaaaaahahahaha oh fuck me.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue
