RE: Has the pope gone mad?
Surely the pope believes in the bible, and in the bible man was created on the 6th day of creation.

What about taking adam's rib and making a woman from rib? The bible story is more closely resembling a story of magic wand usage rather than any scientific theory.

How did he manage to say these things and not expect be confronted with any argument back? Did he just shout it out of the window of the pope mobile then drive off really fast?

What about the other instances in the bible where god pulls out the magic wand? Turning sticks into snakes, impregnating virgins, the majority of the things the bible says point to Jesus being the son of god is that he has the ability to do these things called miracles which directly contradict the laws of science.

Also isn't the pope supposed to never be wrong, yet this pope contradicts the last pope who believed in intelligent design, that's what this article says anyway.

I think that all religions are liars but I think the catholic church at this point has got so much BLATANT lies attached to it, and it really doesn't matter.
The pope could walk around ringing a large bell shouting "BLAAAAAGHGHGHGHGH" and large amounts of idiots would still be saying "Mmmmm that's an interesting take on modern life."

OR maybe there's a explanation for all of this and the bible's right and completely goes along with the theory of evolution.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

The Catholic church still holds that adam and eve were an actual, real couple of humans that lived at the same time. Evolution this is not.

Well, the church seems to be careful not to pin down when and where this adam and eve lived. It has learned the power of evocative bullshit without specificity, unlike idotic literalists who still thinks wrong specificity gives their bullshit credibility.

Sounds like he's simply wanting to have his cake and eat it, too.

This is the same shit that the Vatican has been shoveling for years, and yet so so many atheists and otherwise intellectual people drool all over themselves trying to make this Pope seem like the biggest thing since jesus.

How many fingers am I holding up, Winston ??

{I think it is feasible the church can hold confusing, incompatible and contrary tenets of faith at the same time, whatever is necessary is required}

Or is this just distorting the fable to fit the facts?!

And taking the credit...... again.

To me he's almost saying, "Yes I know it's all horseshit, and that science has long since rendered us obselete. But let's not worry about that, God made science so it's all alright."

He's a turd like all the rest.
