Some sort of tree disease?

Hi all,

I have a question about some odd black growths on the ends of every branch of two trees in the front yard of my new house. I took a picture of a leaf and the odd growth, but I don't know how to post pictures from my phone. So I guess that's two problems I need help with. Much appreciated.

What type of tree is it?
It is easier to post your pics to, say Face Book, copy the link and then post the link to this site.

I have no clue what type pf tree it is. The sun was already down by the time I thought to take pictures and ask the experts on AF. I'll get some tomorrow.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
