The parallels are almost perfect. Mr. A/S/K once came back with a very weak rebuttal when I posted this on another thread. But since is was a circular argument, I just pointed at him an laughed. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
What was his rebuttal? "Our godboy is different?"
Special pleading is his stock in trade. |
