Garden of Eden was a setup...

You seem to be ignoring what I say anyway, so maybe but I'm blocked. But if not, I do want to say that you seem to be willing to think things through a bit, and for that I give encouragement.

Not ignoring you and you're not blocked, just got done wrenching on my WJ and I think I solved my death wobble problem.
70 mph+ lot of bumps no death wobble.......soooo relieved.

God allowed evil, just as he allowed disobedience. He can wipe it all away, the whole universe and recreate it with preprogrammed robots, if He chooses to.

That is what we call a false dichotomy. You're presenting it as only two options, discounting other possibilities.

You can have choices, but only good choices. You don't have to include evil ones. I can imagine a world where everything is wonderful, I can do what I want, so can everyone, and we are free to do what we want but it never occurs to anyone to do something bad. Because bad and evil don't exist, even as potential.

If I can imagine it and he can't do it, we have a problem. And thanks for allowing me to imagine a universe infinitely better than the one you gave me God, you sick fucker.

I would appreciate your input as well

Forgive my ignorance and enlighten me; can you please define each one of those, one at a time.
Please don't move on to the next till I fully grasp the first one were going to tackle.

Lets start with COLD; how would you define COLD?
Let me thank you in advance for your patience.

http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/def...glish/cold

You'll notice the absence of the word "heat", or any reference to it, in that definition.

Now, answer my question: Who created everything, according to your faith? Who created viruses? Who created cancer? Who created evil?

You seem embarrassed to answer this. I wonder why that is?

My guess is that because you worship the guy who created evil.

Not looking to make an ass out of myself....want to get you a solid answer, and that will require some thought.

You're asking a question that I've never considered and definitely not the way you put it.
What's your position on who or what or how we ended up with evil?
Have to ask, because I get the impression you already have an answer in mind.

I glossed right over that when I went on my goose chase earlier because it talks about temperature; doesn't tell me anything, just a layman's definition.

The direction were going with this is that heat is quantifiable and I've never seen anywhere, where the same is true about COLD.

Please, patience and we'll all see what COLD and HEAT are and how they are related.

I like you a lot more than most theists Smile You show a level of thought rarely present. I don't wish to sound patronising, it's a genuine compliment. I never expect people to de convert on the spot because they talk to me, that would be ridiculous. All I ask is that they think, and you are already doing that.

Godwin's Law. The longer an online discussion drags on, the greater the likelihood that Hitler or the Nazis will be mentioned.

As for the wrangling over heat and cold, I would note that the definition "absence of heat" is ambiguous. It is cold today, 30 degrees Fahrenheit. But that doesn't mean that heat is absent, or it would be zero degrees Kelvin. If it's just relative, then a 90 degree day would also be "cold" unless we determine some upper bound for "cold," in which case the first definition applies.

Let me know when we're done with the "absence of" word games and then we can get to discussing how Adam and Eve introduced smallpox into the world.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

One more absence of...
The entire story of Adam and Eve is absent of any basis in reality.
Religion is a fairytale.

That too Smile I'm not sure what is more absurd, that or the Jesus story. It's a tough competition.

Why the fuck would we need money, and cars, and resources, and have to go to work all the frigging time if this world is just meant to be for us to enjoy ourselves. Oh wait, it's for kissing his ass. Well, we'd have a lot more time to do that if weren't always driving, working, eating, sleeping, doing chores...

CiL has a job and a life and other responsibilities and only little time to do homework for the purposes of our discussion.

Please, for the love of God, or as some of you might put it for the love of the idea that there is no God, be patient.

Terrible cough you got there, you might get that checked out.
