"Very very close to the second coming" again.

I really hope you are not serious prof. If you are, please do get some help. You are living entirely in a fantasy land of your own making.
Feel free to send me a private message.

OK I can do that.
So we noticed.

See, that's the thing: the Bible, like lots of other stories, happens to have numbers in it. Lots of them. And apparently, people have spent the last 2,000 years taking some of those numbers and plugging them into formulas and coming up with dates which -shockingly- are always pretty close to the time that hey happen to be living. If the results aren't perfect, don't worry: the sheep will still believe you if you promise them a reward in the near future. The JWs, for example, date the fall of Babylon to 607 BC because that allows their "Bible chronology" to put the date of "the presence" of Jesus as the autumn of 1914, and that lets them pretend that they nailed that prophecy (after all, there was such turmoil in 1914).

The fact that Babylon was conquered in 539 BC doesn't even slow them down; they simply explain that Satan has clouded the minds of the people of the world (except for them, because they're better than you). In any event, they use "Bible chronology" to either set dates or imply that the end is really close (this time for sure!) because that's how you keep the sheep from getting restless.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Christians have been waiting with bated breath for the end since...well, since people started calling themselves Christians. It ain't coming, or at least not in the way Christians imagine it. Christians and other zealots may hasten the end with their insanity and medieval superstitions and notions, but the "end" as described in Revelation is bunk and it is absurd that someone would believe that something so patently asinine could come to pass in reality.

At my age I can't help but feel second comings are greatly overrated. Me, let me enjoy my refractory period .. maybe a nap. Then a talented partner will have no trouble coaxing more from me.

Possibly all the whole antichrist stuff is just the world changing. It's already happening, so one could say the antichrist era is already upon us. The world will shift and put aside religions and gods. For a couple thousand years that will probably be how things continue, until the next major shift occurs. Maybe we'll get really confused again and find a foreign planet and start calling it god and fall into old habits. ..who knows.

Hi IA, I must have missed your question.
Of course many atheists are ant-christ because being against Christ is being anti.
But none of you are the antichrist.
Off the top of my head:

He will worship the god of forces (whatever that means, but it does mean he worships a god) so that leaves atheists out.

He is called the Assyrian (Kenya -place of birth of O was within the Assyrian empire at one time).

He is said to "Change the laws and times" (what was the election platform in '08? / has he been changing any laws?).

He comes in peaceably, taking the kingdom by flattery (who was it who received a Nobel prize for doing NOTHING?).

He is said to use peace to destroy ( the "Peace Process" and war to make peace comes to mind).

He is seen as a beast coming from the sea (is there a sea between Kenya and Hawaii? and between that state and the mainland?).
So the above is biblical, maybe there is more that I forgot- the rest is circumstantial evidence and divine revelation in the last several years.

Oh and thanks for the recommendation to seek professional help.
I will be going to a specialist shortly.
