Best Albums of 2014?

It's okay, The White Stripes were the first band I ever became obsessed with. I'll listen to anything he puts out the day he puts it out.

You'd think I'd have more to say about the Black Keys, being from Akron and all. I do go up to see Mike Lenz at the Outpost from time to time and pick his brain. Apparently, he mentored the duo for a bit.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Really? That's pretty cool.
As far as garage/blues duos go, have you heard of The Kills? Same vocalist as The Dead Weather.

Are you fucking kidding me? I'd throw myself in front of a bus if I though Alison Mosshart would do fuck me for it.

Hahaha, she is very attractive (something about the way she moves....).

Now, that's a band I gotta see live some day.

I'm such a damn fanboy of Jack White's that I'm probably the least credible critic of his music. I love the country, blues, and delta blues influences he's able to work in. I will say Lazaretto wasn't as strong as Blunderbuss, but time has a way of strengthening music. Particularly with odd musical ideas. Like I said though, I'm always willing to give him a chance. He's untouchable. Although, Brittany Howard, if she keeps it up, is gonna give him a run for his money as my personal music god.

Why on gawd's green earth would you scratch AM off the list??? They fully outdid themselves with that album. A-effing-mazing.

Yeah it's fucking killer, but it came out in 2013.

I'm aware of the Kills but I never got around to listening to them. I don't go through music fast enough. If I really like an album, it can be a year or so before I've squeezed everything out of it and moved on. I'm getting better now, I'll listen to 3-4 albums at a time. When I was a kid, I'd find something I loved and make everyone around me hate it. Lol

Plus, I'm old and not cool anymore. I worked with a guy who would always try to turn me on to stuff. His list would have been identical to yours, DC. He'd be like "Have you heard the new Aphex Twin, Black Keys, etc.?" (Stuff I'd undoubtedly love) Meanwhile, I have Mississippi John Hurt or Elmore James in my headphones. Lol

@Exian:
The Kills are good! Keep on your Mean side is one to check out if you ever feel like it.

Old music is great too, though. Just wait for me to start spouting stuff about The Velvet Underground, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Beefheart or any number of punk groups. Lots of good stuff from every decade (although, I need to listen to more pre 1957 music.
