Trek is hard to do on TV...
Enterprise was the last time they tried it.
Sadly i think only someone like JJ.A would have the power and trust of a network to try it now... I liked his show "fringe"
Yes, possible. I'm just so pissed at Enterprise because I thought the "prequel" premise where technology is still much more primitive and space travel not yet routine, would have been extremely exciting for doing Trek. Yet, they immediately went back to cookie cutter Star Trek with the same old plot devices.

I was just funnin', lol.
I grew up watching TOS when it was first aired back in the 1960's. I was like 9, I think. So I've a soft spot for it. Yeah, it is schlocky and campy as hell. But it also broke new ground for network TV. TNG is better quality all around, but then Patrick Stewart is a Shakespearean actor, not a semi-talented TV actor like William Shatner. Plus they got a much bigger budget to work with as well as by then you had far superior FX technology going for you. Roddenberry was lucky to get it on at all, and then every season he had to fight for it all over again.

I just think Rick Berman didn't have any spark or curiosity left in him.
Imagine Enterprise set up such that there is no auto translator or transporter, celestial navigation and warp drives are unreliable. It would make space more real. Just put a tiny bit of reimagined Battlestar Galactica into it. I know the Vulcans would have already had a bunch of tech, but I don't know how specific canon is when it comes to that. Set it almost immediately after the 21st century parts of ST8 if you want. Throw some genuinely good writers on that, and the result could have been spectacular.

Did the Alien say "Schiess dem Fenster!" with a Welsh accent?

Welcome aboard, oh fellow trekkie!
Let the fandom cry and cry and cry!
DS9 was the best, some say.
Voyager was awesome... until that ghastly last season, others would claim.
TNG was the kickstarter for many, so it tends to hold a special place...
Ent was... well... T&A
TOS had the fortune of being the first... and it became good when proper SFX came by, with the Wrath of Khan.
Me, I grew up on TNG, so that's my special one. Was it objectively any good? well, it had good episodes, alright episodes and then there was Will Wheaton episodes.
