Not brain surgery here. Science in a formal lab setting with independent peer review is where knowledge is gained. Getting worked up over any form of entertainment means you are taking yourself way too seriously.

Nah. He won't go back and actually read it. He had no interest in doing so to begin with or he would have seen the number of times we agreed and asked what his solution is.

Back at AF.com, he once argued (using these same tactics) that folding pizza boxes is a marketable skill. I steered clear (for the most part) of that one. Later I dropped the ignore feature on him when he reacted to my wife's bad reaction to our daughter coming out with a ton of assumed negative shit (she's fine now and was fine within 48 hours of it, not that you could tell Brian any different). When I came here and saw his user name, bang, right on ignore. Almost a year later I decided to see what his arguments are like now. Well, he's back on ignore. He argues like a christer. Making baseless assertions and defending straw men to his dying gasp. No need for more of that.

It should tell him something that the only two people I have on ignore are him and Drich.

You are mistaking persistence for dogmatism. Not sticking anyone in ovens here. No laws are being passed, no one is being forced to be on this website or respond to me. No demands on my part blocking those in this thread who don't agree.

I am trying to explain to you why pedestal thinking is not a good idea. And I am also telling you I used to have the same emotional reaction to others the same way they are reacting to me.

Star Trek like ABBA like sports are entertainment.

And even with religion, you are forgetting what starts out as mere stories get successfully marketed an go from small groups to damaging religions. It does not matter what we are talking about here, the point is don't worship clubs or individuals or politicians or sports stars or rock singers as if they walk on water.

Find me anywhere in this thread or on the internet anywhere I sad "never" for merely saying it's just a show.

"It's just a show" is the same as "It is just a game" when talking about sports. People are getting pissy because I am not treating Star Trek any differently than they would treat ABBA.
