Bracket Challenge?
#11
RE: Bracket Challenge?
It's 7:35am. I'll be out for the day (docs appointments and a lecture by a member of an IFC series, "Push Girls"), starting at 12:00pm. If I don't see anything on this league by about 11:30, I'll need to decline. With or without me, I hope you are able to get it going. I like fantasy leagues of all sports , even if I only actually follow soccer.

RE: Bracket Challenge?
Sorry I didn't post on here in time, SC; I'd've done one but it doesn't seem like there's much interest from others on here :-o I guess only atheists that like Pennsylvania football teams are into sports?!

This is as top-heavy of a bracket as I can remember. In my main bracket, my Elite 8 is all four 1s, three 2s, and a 3 (Notre Dame). I have Kentucky over Arizona and Villanova over Gonzaga in the Final Four, with Kentucky pulling off 40-0.

I do a lot of brackets and help a lot of people with theirs (I've probably made, or at least had a hand in, 15 or so in different pools), so I try to hedge my bets a little and mix the picks up a little when I think things could go differently. For instance, I have Wisconsin over Arizona in the E8 in some of my brackets, as well as Duke, Virginia, and even Oklahoma occasionally reaching the E8.

Some random thoughts:

- It's a shame that Wisconsin and Arizona are in the West, because if one of them was on the East/South side they'd make the final.
- If a 4 makes the Final Four, it'll be UNC (even though they're in the toughest quarter), because I just don't think any of the other 4s are as good as any of the 5s. If a 5 makes the Final Four, it'll be Northern Iowa. If a 6 makes the Final Four, it'll be SMU. And if a higher seed makes the Final Four, it'd have to be Michigan State, I think.
- I think there's a really good shot (I mean, like, 15%, but, comparatively) that we get Buffalo v. Valpo in the L32. Maryland's a weak 4 and WVU's a weak 5. In fact, after the top 7 teams (In order, I think: Kentucky, Arizona, Wisconsin, Villanova, Gonzaga, Virginia, Duke), the whole group seems weak by comparison.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

If anyone is still interested, here's the link.

The Elite 8, Final 4, and Championship round have seed bonuses, where the seed of your picked winner is added to the points you get for the correct pick.

So for example, if you pick Wichita State (7) to win it all, you'll get 32 points for picking the winner and 7 bonus points for their seed.

Seriously though, you don't need to know anything about basketball to play. Just pick a bracket and gloat when you pick better than people who follow this shit all year long. It's one of the joys (and pains for me) of March Madness. Join in!

I'm in now, but I'm having trouble making picks. No clicking or dragging seems to help.

What browser do you use?

I found it easiest to pick backwards, as it were. If you pick the final four or championship teams first, then it will fill in all their previous games as wins.

I can't pick either. May be too late since first round games have started.

Eh. Maybe. Send me a PM with your picks, I can edit your brackets. I gots the power. Or post them here. I wonder if I pick your first round picks if it will let you do the rest.

Oooh, try to use one of the autopick options, and then see if it'll let you edit after that. Or if you've already made a bracket on this site, you can import your old bracket.

OK, that's kind of what I thought. 1st round underway. S'ok, I'll just join 2nd round. I'm not too competitive anyway.
