Wearing a crucifix
#61
RE: Wearing a crucifix
That's what I thought. I haven't read Mein Kampf and that is what I thought/think.
I was just thinking because I think there are (and/or must be) people who just think he was being evil deliberately because he was full of hate and wanted to make people pay, even though he knew he was wrong.
But yes, I think he believed he was being totally righteous too. I think that's the impression I got from TGD too. When I re-read the part about Hitler and Stalin I'm pretty sure I'll find that's what it says or at least the impression it gives. Hitler thought he was totally righteous. It seems pretty blatant to me.
So I was saying that yes...I guess perhaps it can't be considered stolen for malicious reasons if he thought it was for righteous reasons!
Even if the reasons weren't malicious though. The symbol has still been polluted because of what Hitler used to symbol for, and what Hitler and Nazism was like!

RE: Wearing a crucifix
I think today the wearing of crucifixes is largely a fashion statement.

This I can relate to. I'm into men's fashion myself. It's a hobby and how I spend my disposable income.

I exclusively do all my clothing shopping HERE.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

I wouldn't wear a crucifix even if I thought it looked cool on me. I could easily be misconstrued. And I think I could probably even be thought of as a hypocrite by at least some.
Besides it blasphemes the FSM. Tongue

I could concider to wear Mjölner (the hammer of Tor) if it wherent (sometimes) associted with nazism here in Sweden.

Anyway why wearing a crucifix if didnt mean anything to you? The people could wear a davidstar, a muslim halfmoon or someother religious symbol.

I wouldnt wear it, I wouldnt wear a necklace of any sort. I dont think men should have necklaces, I find it female-like. But it depends what kind of necklace.

Yeah ... I have a silver crucifix inherited from my late brother but I'd have problems wearing it until such time as I can get the hook/eye thing (that the chain goes through) switched to the bottom so I can wear it upside down.

I would (did when I was in my late teens) ... mind you I'd wear make-up and paint my nails (admittedly black) if I wasn't going to piss my wife off. It's strange you should consider it "female" in this day & age considering that many people into the "hip hop" (yuck) kinda image wear quite heavy gold and silver necklaces.

LOL!
True, some men can look masculine with necklaces.
Unless of course - you think MR T is female-like!

RE: Wearing a crucifix
As I said it depends on what kind of necklaces and what person that wears them. I think that the kind of necklaces and jewlery that is called "Bling" (just the name is ridicilious) do I not understand why you should wear. But hiphop artists seems to like it, but as I said it both sound and look ridicilous, not female like just ridicelous. But that maybe is something they enjoy.

But other jewelrys that men wear, like earrings, fingerings and necklaces is both female like and looks stupid. if the jewelry you wear dont have meaning, like a ring from a order like the freemasons or something else or if you are married (which you shouldnt do), then you shouldnt wear any rings or necklaces.

If Jeebus was killed on a simple pole, all the strippers I have seen have been extremely devout.
And the Lord God spake unto them, saying, "A Great Fire be bound within all things, and know ye that be it unleashed, its energy shall be as like its mass, multiplied by the swiftness of the light, and so multiplied again." And they were much amazed. --II Physicists, Chapter IV, verses 5-8.
