Oh Tennessee
Tennessee passes a bill to make the bible the official state book.

At least there are some politicians in the state that are some what sane.  The Governor and the AG both say the state shouldn't do it.

The fact that it has passed the house and probably will pass the senate is absolutely mind numbing.  What the hell are they thinking about?  The AG's main concern is the legal battle over separation of church and state.  REALLY???  DO YOU THINK????  C'mon Man!

Fucking Christians. If they want to spend legislative time on an official 'state book' why not honor a Volunteer that achieved some literary notoriety? There are a few worthy candidates in my opinion:

Alex Haley: Roots
Shelby Foote: The Civil War: A Narrative
Robert Penn Warren: All The King's Men (Pulitzer Prize)

It seems almost like it is discrimination, ignoring everyone's beliefs in the state.

How would they feel if someone had made the Koran the Tennessee state book?

They'll celebrate getting the bible as the state book right before they strangle each other over the fight about which version.

If I was in Tennessee, might be a good time to publicly burn some Catholic Bibles.

Seriously.

Fucktards in the legislature are clueless, totally clueless.
