Which reminds me. In the 60s, British police unearthed the well preserved body of a woman from a bog. A man living near by whose wife had been missing for a few years broke down at the news and confessed to killing his wife and dumping her body in the swamp.
Shortly afterwards Radiocarbon dating shows the body from the bog was 2000 years old.

Are you an immortal serial killer?
No, I think I remember reading one of his posts in which he admitted he was from a long line of serial killers. His father, his father's father, as far back as anyone can remember, or the records go.
Anyway, it does not make him more hated by his countrymen than he already is. You see, he does not drink tea. If they catch him for being a serial killer, they will give him a fair trial, but if the mob catches him as a non-tea-drinker, there won't be anything left of him for a trial.

I love reading stories like that.
Now, of course, bog bodies are a well known fact.

Yes. It explains why, in the law (in the U.S., at least), it is best to keep your mouth shut and only speak with your lawyer. "Never confess" is a practical motto.
Of course, for the truly practical, one tends to avoid murder as much as reasonably possible, as it is a crime that, I think, in most places, has no statute of limitations, and they are always coming up with new technology to access the evidence that has been gathered. Some people have been convicted based on DNA evidence, even though there was no DNA testing when the crime was committed. One can avoid a lot of problems by not committing such crimes.

Yeah, but where's the sport in that?

Granted, there is little sport in that, but it avoids messiness and expensive dry-cleaning bills, not to mention the bother of disposing of the bodies. Really, my cellar is only so big, and once it is full, I have to look for other places to get rid of the bodies. It's just not worth all of the trouble to have the sport.
