Hello, I'm new here.
May 3, 2015 at 3:21 pm
Hi. I've lurked here for a while and thought I'd register so I can occasionally post.
I'm a 53 year-old male. I'm married and live near Portland Oregon.
I used to be a vegan. That's when I started using the name VeggieDog, but even though I'm not vegan/veg any longer I still like the name VeggieDog.
I became an atheist at 16 when I finally realized religion is just a bunch of BS.
Politically, I'm all over the place. I agree with some aspects of both Conservatives and Liberals, so I guess that makes me a Libertarian, but I'm not sure about that.
My personal philosophy is that we should be allowed to do anything we want as long as we don't hurt others. I think that's the Wiccan Code, but I'm not Wiccan.
Have a nice day.

Ouch, you had me up until "libertarian". I will never be an economic conservative, they have proven to be the party of the 1%. And while libertarians are social liberals they still hold the same "let the rich write our laws" as the GOP.
NO we should not allow each other to do whatever we want. We have traffic lights and speed limits. Now if you want less government, business can get that by not expecting workers to pay for their tax breaks and give directly to workers in better pay and lower cost of living.
Pot should be legal and gays should be able to get married, but anyone who thinks allowing big corporations to write our laws for us has been working is out of their minds.
But outside that, welcome.

Welcome to the forum, VeggieDog
What made you give up veganism? I could never stop eating meat myself, let alone give up dairy, wearing leather, etc...

Welcome, VD! I'm a meat eater, myself. Always have been. But little spurts of Veg-ism just feel good. I've never had a veggie dog, but prefer veggie sausage and bacon to the real thing (Morningstar! I need to try more of their stuff). Love your moniker, though.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome.
I gave up veganism after about eight years. I just missed my favorite foods too much, especially fried chicken. I could eat that every day.

Um I think Minimalist, can correct me if I am wrong but he meant "Libertarians" as in "libertards" not liberals. He doesn't like moderates because they are allowing the right to pull everyone more to the right when we should be pulling them back.
