Tell me something I don't know

RE: Tell me something I don't know
It costs the US Mint almost twice as much to mint the Penny and the Nickel as they are actually worth.

Jim Parsons (aka Sheldon Cooper) has never seen an episode of Star Trek or Dr. Who

The Soviet Union refused to host the 1980 Paralympics, stating that none of their citizens had disabilities.

Figured, although wiki says LaPlace for some reason (I've only been to La. once, driving through all the way mostly on I-10, "detouring" on I-12, stopping for the night in Slidell, near NO).

Ports are cool. I saw a documentary on the Port of Singapore recently on TV. Chaos, perhaps, but lots of control, too.

Yeah, but it's still the same word just with prefixes

They are context based and therefore different words, otherwise Dreamt is just Dream with a postfix.

LaPlace/Gramercy/Port of South Louisiana: same beast.  I'm accustomed to referring to it as Gramercy because that is the designation as used by Customs and Border Protection.  When we submit lade orders to CBP, we submit them to the office specific to the port region.  Gramercy covers miles 127-165 on the river.

they're often blue (eyes, not scallops)

You cannot work in Antarctica unless you have your wisdom teeth and appendix removed.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

"Wisdom teeth" was coined* as a sarcastic slur at our intelligent designer who decided it would be wise to give us useless extra teeth that may cause us problems and have to be removed. Similarly, appendix literally means, "WTF bro?"

*Other sources will disagree.
