What's the deal with general Crawler in Firefox?
I just reinstalled Firefox because it was getting slow and laggy and noticed an Addon called General Crawler. The definition is kind of offputting.

Quote:The plug-in from the General-Crawler.com website which lets the users take part in supplementing of the file database of the biggest file search project by informing our crawlers that the given webpage contains links to file sharing sites.

I disabled it immediately, but it's impossible to get rid of it. It just comes with Firefox. That's their webpage, so does anyone know what their deal is?

I was going to say that I've seen Firefox dozens of times and I don't ever remember anyone called General Crawler.

But it probably wouldn't be helpful. So I won't.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
