There must be something going on because my kitchen is pretty tidy apart from the top of the microwave. Is there a published paper on why this happens?

I put mine over the stove to avoid that.

I had enough crap it was getting scary hot sometimes.

And yes, microwaves has equivalent of mass and therefore does distort gravity, according to E=MC^2

That's no where near the distortion caused by a single stack of mail. Any visible place you put it will attract mail, papers, and odds and ends of all kinds.

In my defence, apart from the tape measure, I can't claim any of the microwave hoard. Amazing how things just don't get noticed as well - I use the microwave a fair bit and until I looked at the photo, never realised we owned the pink and blue cat things. Been there months apparantly!
