Also, you should watch The Walking Dead. I just binge watched 5 seasons.
Ah, my bad. I was actually referring to the title "Fear The Walking Dead." I didn't really make that clear.
I just think that simply adding "Fear" to the title for a spinoff is lazy, and I think people should be wary of the quality of the show. If I were a fan of the first, I would be really worried that this show was going to be a cheap attempt to cash-in on its predecessor's name.
As for the show, I can't really get into long series like that. I like my stories in short, neat packages, but I am somewhat interested in checking out the graphic novel the show is based upon.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Not sure if it's going a series or miniseries. I suppose the ratings may have more to do with that than anything else. I've read a few the TWD graphic novel compendium, which puts me just after the events in Alexandria. Kirkman says that this season of WD will coincide with the comic more than any of the previous seasons.

I've noticed in the few that I've read how much more fleshed out the show's stories are than the comics - or at least they've chosen to flesh different parts of the story out than the comics have. Andrea is a very, very different character in the comics than in the show (I hated her on the show), and I'm only just in the part dealing with the Govenor.
That reminds me, though, that I need to check the next three or four volumes out of the library... I should do that today.
As for the series/miniseries debate, even with high ratings I can't see this being more than a miniseries. I mean, there is only so long you can stretch out a several-weeks-long story (unless you go the route of 24 and show every single hour of the progressing zombie apocalypse...) before it becomes just another post-apocalypse survival story like the current series.

You're probably right. It should be wrapping around the time the regular show starts. At least you don't have to wait until October to see some undead action. If you happen to follow The Strain on FX, you should be covered.

The name of the show doesn't actually refer to the zombies, but rather the show's protagonists. You don't actually learn that until the end of Season 5 though.
So the series took five whole seasons to say what Romero's original Dawn Of The Dead said in one film?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
