I think he has the right to be an idiot. There is nothing in the rules about that.

You and the others are wilfully blind to what I keep saying: I love gays, I love anybody nice to me. I view everyone equal. Its just that I don't condone that samesex marriage as my conscience bothers me. Baking wedding cakes for such marriages *makes me feel guilty* about disobeying my conscience. Disobeying my conscience by baking it can result in bad sexual karma and I don't want to risk it. On the other side, Not baking wedding cakes for gays makes lawsuits and I will have my business ruined and me and my brother will have to pack for India and be poor again. Thus, I want some support for my Liberty of Conscience rights. Its a tricky issue. I came here to vent this issue and get support but no support except for two nice dudes (thanx @homeless nutter)

I said it a thousand times but you guys just reject it on purpose probably because of some grudge you have against a totally different group of people. I'm done.

There was a time when business banned blacks or had separate entrances.There was also a time when it was illegal for women to vote. Both were bigotry based on religion. If one can see rightfully how wrong the religious bigotry against non-muslims and sectarian infighting far too much of the Middle East is gripped by, surely one can see what a whiney little brat they are being bitching about others existing.

There's a solution for that: don't bake any wedding cakes. That way you won't run afoul of anti-discrimination laws, and you won't be risking your conscience. I mean, there's no requirement that you make wedding cakes, but there is a requirement that whatever products you do sell, you need to sell to everyone that wants one. There's a reason for those laws, they protect all of us, and you don't get to pick and choose which ones apply to you when their blanket nature is the whole point.

Just stop baking wedding cakes, if you're not confident in your ability to bake wedding cakes for all your customers. It's that easy.

You mentioned the Colorado bakery that got fined in a gay marriage dispute in your first post... you are aware that they weren't fined for not making the cake, right? They were fined because they retaliated to a formal complaint against them by posting the personal details of the gay couple online without their consent and incited harassment against them from other christians, up to and including threatening their children. That payout was due to the mental anguish the couple suffered for the baker's actions unrelated to cakes.

You have your freedom of beliefs, but those don't trump every other law. Your religious freedoms have never extended to what you're allowed to do with your business, so you're asking for support for a right you never had.

Holy shit you moron, you stupidly think the history of the religions of Asia and the Orient have been violence free? China and Tibet and Japan are full of Buddists and they don't exactly get along. Buddism is not a cure all for hhumanity anymore than any other religion.

All religions are human invented constructs and do not own patents on morality. Our species ability to be cruel or compassionate is iin our evolution, not old clubs invented by ignorant humans of antiquity who didn't know better.

Nobody I run into here I'd call sane is anti human rights simply for pointing out the harm religions cause. We pick on all religions.
