It was sort of fun, because I love a good intellectual challenge, but some of that was ridiculous. I remember on the final, our professor put a bonus question for extra credit and by that time it had already taken me 4 hours, I just wrote down, "You've got to be kidding me". He gave me 5 points for making him laugh.
I imagine it's worse at the college level, whereas my only experience with it was in high school. But I also imagine it's just like Alex said, transformitive. Of all the classes I didn't pay enough attention to in high school, I regret that one the most.

But then, isn't finding algorithms the same?
Completely different actually.
In programming(or while defining an algorithm),a programmer will know what the input will be,the procedures that will have to be done on the input and finally - the output.
The only complication is translating the procedures into an algorithm - one which a computer can understand and process.
In mathematics, one would know the start and the final result. All the procedures in the middle of the starting and the final result are unknown and they are found essentially from a process of bruteforcing - like in a jigsaw puzzle.
To represent in a form of analogy:
Output: "This is the start and end of a sentence."
In programming: "This si eth artts dna dne fo a sentence"
In mathematics: "This ............................... sentence."

I also wasn't pressured. Not sure my mom or grandparents graduated from high school. I was told, straight C's were good, anything above that was cake. As long as I passed, that was acceptable. I averaged B+/- and the same in vocational school.
My youngest son struggles. This is what gets him peeved.
Not sure I agree with EERYTHING he says, but he makes some damn good points.
I've watched this video seven times now, and I'm about to watch it again

Why does he complain about learning all those things that interest me, and about not learning all the things that don't interest me... I'm confused
But seriously, we learned details about the political system and watched election ads, did presentations about the various party programs. He's right about the mental health stuff and financial advice though

Seriously; I'm obsessed. This kid is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and the more vids of his I watch, the more I think he is what's right about the young adult generation.
I haven't crushed on a twenty three year old in a loooong time.
