#Blacklives matter is specifically for the issue of police brutality against black people. Why would they focus on gang killings when that's not their purpose?

"Black lives matter" has an implied "also". You're arguing against thin air with "all lives matter". Nobody disagrees with that.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

Right, so black lives only matter when there is the possibility of racism involved as a motivation for the killing?
And please don't generalise situations like Zimmerman and others like that as just racism. These cases need to be evaluated case by case. It's not as black and white as: he had a gun, the black guy didn't, this was wrong.

The point of it is the police brutality against black people. That is the specific thing they're protesting.

The BLM movement doesn't have "more" attached to it. It's not "black lives matter more," rather "black lives matter as well." When two groups of armed people kill each other like gang violence, yes that is sad, but they were armed against each other. When police are killing unarmed people of color at an alarming rate, the movement happens.
While I disagree with a lot of their methods, their message is necessary to raise consciousnesses.

Yea, Zimmerman is a nutcase, I still don't think there is enough evidence to suggest that the shooting was motivated by racism, but he isn't a very nice person non the less. It wasn't a good example to go with for me.
