Hey all, 

I was referred to you by an active member of the forum. After telling me the url name and me making a comment about potential circle-jerking, he assured me that the community here is super diverse, the conversation is awesome, and anyone can discuss anything, openly. Sounds like a place I'd enjoy. 

A little about me: 

I'm an atheist/anti-theist that came from a family of secular Christians in Chicago that's also very Republican. I am a registered independent but if I were to assign a label, I'd hesitantly say left leaning Libertarian with Democratic Socialist tendencies. I slowly came to non-belief in my own study starting in early highschool. I am in my mid-twenties now. I have read the Bible cover to cover, as well as parts of the Quran. I studied aerospace engineering in university and now find myself, by choice, as a retail buyer for a prominent outdoor store. I'm a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador for the region. I've written opinion for a nationally recognized newspaper for over 3 years. I'm currently writing a sci-fi novel that incorporates many of the big issues and conversations of our time. As you might get from my job, I love nature and the outdoors and that's my choice vacation. I also love watching movies and have numerous hobbies. 

I will literally debate anything, so long as it follows some level of progression. 

I look forward to getting to know this forum and its contributors  Smile
