Essay on Quran 2:256 by Patricia Crone
I've not read it yet (it's twenty-six pages) but I assumed other people would have an interest in it. The essay is called "No Compulsion In Religion".

For those who don't know this is Quran 2:256:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things."

Here is the essay:

Is her head on a pike yet ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

She died of cancer on the 11th of July 2015 and had been retired since 2014 (says so on her Wikipedia page).

Apparently by the time he got to verse 3:56 'allah' had changed his mind.

Quote:And as for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers."

Like all this holy horseshit, there is something in it for every one to do their own thing.
