Make you some caps, scavenge you some junk, be another place to sell your stuff and fix you up. It's a personal preference whether or not to mess with them beyond the quests.

I have 5 tier-3 shops in Sanctuary, for a total caps cost of what 15k?

The money I've got from that settlement is maybe 1k total so far.  So I'm going to have to play a lonnnnnnggg game to recoup even the money I spent.

I guess the most fun of having the bases is mainly just building a cool fort.

Sanctuary is an ideal place to set up industrial water puriefiers. I'm currently producing 316 units of clean water. Selling them on every couple of days allows you to buy each and every shipment of raw materials from each and every vendor.

Water is the way to go for the get rich quick scheme in this game.

Interesting...

I re-rolled for super high perception and agility and am going to attempt the very hard difficulty. Hard wasn't actually all that hard, so we'll see how the next step up is.

(Of course, I cheated at that first deathclaw and dropped the difficulty to easy to get by. That thing is nearly impossible to get by on hard.)

Sanctuary, for me, has seventeen people.

I cleared a place called "Murk Water Construction Site" and built 4 bed, some defences, water and food resources, and a beacon, of course, then forgot all about in.  Went back after I decided to check out my communities and it had a population of 32!!

WTF?

Ended up sending the excess population to my other communities.

From the title I was worried this would be anti-vaccination stuff.

I read one article that said that the further you get into the minutemen quests, the more settlers you bring in. I have yet to see evidence for this, though.

I just wondered why a community, basically in the middle of a swamp, would attract 30+ settlers (and when I went there, they were all literally standing together in a clump) when there are far better communities to be had.

That's my main base. The map often says there's 32 peeps there, but when I arrive and check the workshop, there's 19. Undecided

My main base is still Sanctuary Hills and, to a lesser extent, Red Rocket..
saying that I've been sending more and more people to Spectacle Island.

I need to get my head around construction of buildings, though.
