I've already seen a discussion on how to save the current VW engine software, get the car fixed in the (apparent) upcoming recall, test drive the new software and see if it impacts drive-ability or mileage too much, and if desired, put the old software back.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
