Yeah,I quite liked ,( I like Rachel Weiss) 3/5
I enjoyed it as a movie [very] loosely based on the life of Hypatia of Alexandria. Her claim to fame was that was being a female Neo Platonist philosopher. Hypatia was probably murdered by thugs on the orders of the local Christian patriarch for political reasons masquerading as religious outrage..
The Library of Alexandria was destroyed four times; in 48CE (Julius Caesar was blamed as,he was in Alexandria bonking Cleopatra at the time ) in third century by Aurelian,in the Fourth Century on the order of Theodesious, and during the Muslim conquest around 642CE.
Hypatia died in March 415CE. The library had been burned over 20 years before that date ,because of the decree of the emperor Theodesious,in 391CE (at the request of Theophilis,Patriarch of Alexandria) It's most unlikely it had anything to with Hypatia.
