So at 4 miles you knew what you were shooting at?

Oops.

Quote:Medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres has condemned "in the strongest possible terms" deadly air strikes on its hospital in the Afghan city of Kunduz.
MSF said at least 12 of its staff and seven patients, three of them children, were killed in the attack.
It said the strikes had continued for more than 30 minutes after US and Nato officials were told of its location.
US forces were carrying out air strikes at the time.

Speaking of "collateral damage."

I never entirely understood why drones are such a bad thing.

I mean, bombing in general isn't a good thing and I'd like to avoid it if we can, but let's be realistic: the US military is going to bomb people. Period. That being the case, why are drones worse than manned flights to drop bombs? Or are they worse?

I guess it just makes people even more detached from the bloodshed. Shooting and bombing from a distance de-empathizes people enough, robots is the next step I guess. Soon no one will feel anything while the world burns.

Do you think that the commanding officer actually feels attached to the people he's ordering to be bombed?  Chances are, that CO has never met those people before and never will.
