I don't agree with this idea of women being weaker than men. Even if you could find evidence to say that, on average, they are weaker, that still doesn't mean there aren't women who could kick a man's ass. There's a woman I work with who does amateur boxing and, trust me, you do not want to mess with her. Conversely there are also men (like me) who seriously lack upper body strength and would never be able to handle themselves in a fight.

I think the idea of "women are weak" is a self-fulfilling prophecy, it's become a "truth" because it's so pounded into us psychologically. Think back to when humanity was just a fledgling hunter-gatherer species fighting for survival in the wild. Who do you think were protecting the children from predators while the men were out hunting? Hint, it wasn't the men. Among other animal species we continue to see this too; threaten a baby of any large cat species, 9 times out of 10 it'll be the mother with her fangs in your neck.

While I think that women are weaker is the wrong way to put it, there is sexual demorphism in our species. Men produce far more testosterone then women women which builds muscle mass. As well as triggering increased aggression. Estrogen which women produce in abundance is markedly different effects, and certainly makes them the more beautiful gender for certain. To get more into detail, it triggers the development of breasts and a rounding of the face. It also triggers muscle building in the rear and thighs, but lacks the muscle enhancing properties of testosterone.

No, it's exactly the right way to put it.  Women as a group are vastly weaker than men as a group, and for the most part even a reasonably strong woman is wekaer than a normal man.
Looking for a 90-lb weakling and standing him next to Ronda Rousey doesn't change anything.  You wouldn't look at a poorly-fed cub and say, "Yep, sometimes dogs are bigger than bears." Tongue

IMHO, there are not enough laws to keep women in their place. A woman's place is in the home. There's no reason why women should be allowed to work and take jobs away from men. Furthermore, this keeps her from performing her womanly duties to her husband and children, like making their meals, washing their clothes, and cleaning the home.

Wtf. Why does a woman's place have to be a predefined anything? If a woman wants to have a career and a education shouldnt it be up to her own self determination?

Most women do not have the same amount of muscle mass as most men and thus most women are weaker in that way. That said, fighting and self defense is a lot less to do with sheer physical strength and a lot more to do with speed, agility and knowledge of the human body.  You don't necessarily have to be physically strong to kick the shit out of someone much bigger than you. Thinking back to high school, I remember on a few occasions witnessing some fights between a pretty muscular guys vs a much smaller guy and the smaller guy won simply because he was faster and knew where and how to hit. I don't think a lot of women realize it's a lot more difficult to move around when your shaped like the hulk and you STILL have weak spots just like everybody else (it's a matter of knowing how to exploit those weaknesses). 

(With my full consent of course) my husband has gone through lots of scenarios of how I could be grabbed or approached by an assailant. And when I say "gone through scenarios" I mean grabbed me as roughly/hard as an attacker would and actually very realistically put me in the position of what the hell would I do then showed me how to get out of it and/or disable the attacker enough to get away. My husband is a big guy (a whole lot bigger and physically stronger than me) and I tell him not to go soft or be afraid of hurting me a little because I want to learn. In all honesty, if you know what you are doing it doesn't take super human strength to break out of being physically restrained nor to put someone on the ground. I hope I never have to use self defense or fighting skills in a real life scenario, though it is probably wise for everyone to learn.
