Are you looking forward to the football World cup?
June 6, 2010 at 9:02 am
I'm not.
I hate spectator sport at the best of times, but I have a particular loathing for the football world cup.
It becomes omnipresent.
You cant walk down the street without seeing fifty houses sporting the england flag or morons seroiusly compremising there fuel efficiency by having massive flags flapping from the sides of their cars.
And what it does to the TV schedule.
Programme times are changed, matches over run and the air time is filled with hour after hour of stupid stupid games of kick the ball around.
And when the games arent on the endless naval gazing moronic talk about games that have just been played and speculation about games that will be played.
End of rant

Until the games over and a horde of cro-magnons suddenly appear down the road chanting ENG-ER-LAND at the top of their voices.
Whose idea was it to add the ER to england anyway.

I intend to watch at least a few of the matches- the ones involving England, and the final (which almost certainly won't involve England).

Short answer: NO
Long answer: NO
But in my spare time I study mass hallucination with a religious twinge and from that perspective it certainly is fascinating.
