Do we really need another movie in a franchise that should have been put down several iterations ago?
Go Hollywood, land of recycled and reused material.
Funny how people don't react as strongly when the next iteration of a video game is released.
I think this is a smart way to revamp the Rocky franchise, keeping the beloved title character in a leading, yet realistic role.

Enough with the Jane Austin, and while I'm on the subject, I could do without another re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet. New stuff please or at least a decent version of Titus Andronicus. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. (November 7, 2015 at 3:36 am)Thumpalumpacus Wrote: Okay, I'm happy it isn't about the band. Yeah, clicking this thread and watching it load up was an emotional roller coaster. "Creed..hmmm, probably a religious thing." *click* "Hell yes?... And a video? This better not be With Arms Wide Open. Is this a new Creed song? Do I have to break up with Thena? Oh, yeah, Rocky. K, we're cool."
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue (November 7, 2015 at 9:55 am)Cato Wrote: Funny how people don't react as strongly when the next iteration of a video game is released. The video game companies are just as bad as Hollywood when it comes to mass-producing garbage, but they're totally different mediums. The hardware games are produced on is always improving, which allows games to actually improve on what they've started. Sequels are often times lauded as some of the best games to come out. Sequels to movies, on the other hand, are rarely ever better than the original, and usually the further you get from the original, the worse they get. Perhaps you don't see people react so strongly because we know the mass-produced games are coming out every year, so there's no surprise to see that the material is being recycled. It's expected. But yeah, we don't need a new Call of Duty, either. I do begrudgingly admit to renting it out of curiosity, though.
I'm aware that no on these forums truly knows me, but Creed the band?
Really? (November 7, 2015 at 9:49 am)Faith No More Wrote: Do we really need another movie in a franchise that should have been put down several iterations ago? After Rocky IV and V, I agreed with you. When "Rocky Balboa" came out, I very nearly gave it a miss completely. It finally showed up on a streaming site and I watched it out of sheer boredom. I was honestly surprised because it wasn't just a rehash of the same old script twisted to fit a new set of characters. It was, in my opinion, the best of the sequels. Thief and assassin for hire. Member in good standing of the Rogues Guild.
Rocky III was the last film in the franchise I have seen. I could actually be persuaded to see this one I think.
