Welcome and have a fun stay.

Oh and charity with strings attached is not charity but exploitation, so though you may not participate yourself, try to donate to organizations who won't use your kindness to exploit the needy.

Thanks! Interesting perspective on charity, never thought of it from that angle.

I will never again admonish another member for preaching to the choir.  With such fine choir persons among us, preach it I say, preach on.  I wonder if it would be possible to do a group Skype where our illustrious choir members and other not yet revealed singers could belt out a few tunes?  As a fan of irony I would really like to see us put out a disc of Christmas tunes.  We could call it Atheists.org Comes a Caroling.

Trust me, I still get chills listening to beautiful choral music, and have (had) lots of fun singing. I don't believe the wording, we could be singing "do" for every note and it would still be satisfying to me. So I think it is safe for me to say that one product of worth from religion is some of the music (personally, I enjoy baroque and early English such as Farrant). Don't care one bit for the modern stuff.

Indeed. If churches were actual charities, they'd prove their charitable status the way any other organisation does, and be prepared to open their books.

Greetings from an ATHEIST Bible-belt Catholic Church organist.  Yes, the music can be great, and the rest is BS.  I get you!  Welcome!

And I always wondered why they call it 'Tourist Season' if you can't shoot them.
