What are you cooking/eating for Thanksgiving?

RE: What are you cooking/eating for Thanksgiving?
Helping my mom with the annual homeless dinner my family does down at my dad's shop, and then buggin' out to go to my friend's for a sit-down dinner.

I'll be celebrating at my mom's, so probably the usual turkey with all the trimmings.

I'm serving a turkey with wild rice stuffing, gravy, scalloped potatoes, brussel sprouts and cranberry cole slaw. Two pies: berry and pecan. Small crew this year, just my brother and his family, Lia and I and Lia's cousin.

We just do a breast also, only 3 of us to feed.  I use this one:

Drunk Turkey

We are actually having it all today, since hubby says he needs to study tomorrow.  So I baked the pumpkin pie yesterday, and also make chocolate chip pumpkin bread, and blueberry cream cheese tarts.  I've got my sweet potato casserole cooking right now, then I'm making a steamed artichoke and saute'd calliflower for veggies.  no one here likes green beans except me, so I skip that.  And then basic mashed potatoes, of course.

Oh, I also made cranberry sauce from scratch this year.  With cinnamon, orange peal and red wine. It's is awesomesauce!  Pun intended.

Yeah homemade cran sauce is easy and it's the shit. I may try a splash of wine in mine.

I'm going over to my sister's house for Thanksgiving, so probably turkey and the usual suspects.

Chilling the dough for my treacle tart and I should probably start cubing the meat for steak and kidney pie

It's at my sister's. A friend of ours is doing the bacon-latticed turkey and gravy; my sister is doing a bunch of stuff including pumpkin bars, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole; I'm making smashed potatoes and my brussels sprouts; my friend Amber's making some yummy crockpot something-or-other... there are only six of us this year, so I think we'll have plenty of food Tongue
