And that is what theists don't get. The live in such a compartmentalized bubble most have no clue, or do but don't care, that all the world's religions make the same arguments. It is like watching a Harry Potter fan club and Star Wars fan club fight over which heros are real.

I am with you. I don''t buy naked assertions.

I ain't buying Jesus, or Allah or Vishnu or Buddha, just because others say "Dude, I have this awesome club you should be part of".

Yea so? I am sure all of them think their respective clubs are awesome and their heros are awesome. But cant turn back the clock once you know the planet is much older than our human invented myths.

You know why they subscribe to it?
Because ignorance is bliss. It gives us the warm/fuzzies. Simple as that.

That too, but what I ain't buying is the "new delicate." Beyond being a troll, there's no point to her being here.

You're feeling like an onion?

I am, now you mention it. I'll go and have one in a bit.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I love my liberal atheists and theists but depending on individual, some get too over protective of religion. Their empathy is there, and I love that part of my species evolution, that is the great part of our existence. The downside to that good intent is far too often it gives cover for the nuts in all the bunches to read the same books to justify harm to others.

Liberals and moderates have to keep in mind that while theists do pick up any holy book and justify compassion with it, others can and do pick up those same books and justify cruelty. The debate isn't about justifying the forceful end of religion through government. It is a mere challenge to any harmful claim someone might justify using a holy book.

If we want a more peaceful world, you cant simply use censorship and set up taboos to get to that peace. But we can agree that common law applies to everyone which allows us to criticize and offend, without fear of physical harm.

And that's where you're wrong. It's got nothing to do with religion, but everything with choosing one's own path through life. I don't have to like what other people value, but in order to protect my own values I have to protect their freedom to do and believe whatever the fuck they want.

That's why I am as opposed to so called anti theists as I am against radical religious individuals. They all want to shove their opinions down everyone's throats.

I don't understand how you can protect everyone's freedom to do what they want, many people want to restrict other people's freedoms, for example with religious laws.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Yes, exactly what New Atheists set out to do. From the other side of the fence.

You don't get that it's not a desirable world to live in, if some group, usually the most powerful, sits in judgment over what everyone has to believe - or not to believe?
