Yes, the argument from authority doesn't really apply here. I don't think anyone is saying that "just because Bart Ehrman said it means it's true", but rather "Bart Ehrman has studied this all his life; he knows what he is talking about more than the average person".

@Dotard, if you'd done research, written a few books based on that research, and received awards by noted scholarly institutions, you might get some well deserved recognition too Tongue
