It's high school sports and they are trying to promote sportsmanship. I have never seen a high school that encouraged its students to taunt the other team, this is definitely Fox news making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I'm also trying to understand how chanting 'U.S.A.' is even a thing in high school sports, let alone being so prevalent as to merit concern.

European soccer matches can turn into an all out war. Or at least they could. I remember watching the massacre at the Heysel stadium live on tv. Got british teams banned for a few years from playing in continental Europe. After a few more streetfights and destruction, police took to funneling fans like cattle into the stadiums and keeping the sectors seperated.
Speaking about chauvinism and sports.
