A question or two for the Brits:
I'm contemplating the purchase of a wax jacket for cold, wet winter days. It won't be used for hunting...just walking to class in the rain and wind.
Wax jackets are not so common in the US, but they are very dapper looking, so I'd like to ask those of you who may be more familiar with them:
Setting aside the price differences, would you go with a wax jacket or something made with Gore-tex? Why?
And if you did buy a wax jacket, would you recommend Barbour or another manufacturer? Why?
