The ship was sinking back in 08, and the leaking only slowed down and some of it got reversed.  The ship started sinking in 1980 because of the "fuck the workers" and "don't tax the rich" bullshit Reagan started.

It means winning the Culture War. No more realistic possibility of overturning Roe vs. Wade, no more church-state separation challenges, no more LGBT rights challenges. True social progress for decades which will not be walked back.

I also have hopes the Republican party will then reform to a party of common sense and give us two viable parties in America.

Even if they put social issues aside trickle up economics isn't working anymore. If they have any long term hopes they need to ditch all the old white party, and become the progressive Teddy Roosevelt party. I doubt they will do that at all considering the totality of the majority they have in there right now, those morons didn't learn anything from the past 8 years.
Does any of them ever learn from history? No, they don't and the ones that do are blocked from trying improve.Teddy had some fair ideas, but his stance on war is to similar to the policy's of George Bush. If a country is considering war, they should think twice , then think on it more. Showing you have a large military is not a good option, showing you small but extremely effective military is more terrifying then common solders. The GOP wants that war economy thriving again, along with the war on the American citizens to be revived.

I bet you did hahaha  Cranky

We have a lot of multinational corporations importing cheaper labor (IT from India for example), and exporting jobs (manufacturing to Mexico and China for example), all to keep the costs down to remain competitive in a global market. As a result US citizens are getting poorer, and demanding cheaper products which continues the downward spiral to the bottom. I don't use Amazon or Walmart for example and try to support local businesses to support the jobs here. Then we have Wall Street banks making massive profits, but because our economy is now linked with Wall street instead of main street, along with retirement accounts like 401k and IRA dependent on wall street, Wall Street has become a powerful force, and resulted in the whole too big to fail ideology. So we have criminal banksters influencing the political class with all the money they are making trading money ie Hillary Clinton.

People need to wake up to globalism and how it's destroying the currencies, trade, and the point is to bring first world countries down to second world status, and third world up to second world status, while the banking elite are now the ruling class, while we become slaves on a global plantation.

No one is talking about the bank of international settlements, IMF SDR (standard drawing rights), or the planned currency reset.

Foreign born workers growing at record rates

Part Time workers are accounting for the surge in employment rates

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/part-ti...2016-04-01

The reason for that is Obamacare, which means any company employing a worker over 20 hours a week has to pay health insurance. So instead of taking on that cost, instead of 10 full time employees, they hire 20 part time employees which makes the unemployment rate look lower, but then people either have to choose to pay the almost 1000 fine for not paying for Insurance or pay around 250 a month to get insurance.

Even the corporation I work for is doing this. They hire people to work 40 hours a week for a few months and then lay them off, and hire new people. The key is to make sure they don't average 20+ hours a week for a yearly average.

Americans are getting poorer. Unless we stop exporting labor to cheap countries, and importing cheap labor to keep the wage average down here, we are going to be struggling very soon.

I'm sure that some Ketel One and a little donkey porn will cure his post-election angst in no time flat.

There's only so much Schadenfreude I can muster when the disaster has the potential to strike all of us on a global level. America being driven into the shitter pretty much does the whole global economy in. It did so in 1929, in 2008 and it would happen again.

Worry not, Abs. Trump won't get it.

People are becoming more political aware, even though it's a slow process to get them out of their trance. The zombies are a lost cause, but there are some that are waking up, whether they vote democrat or republican, it's great to see. It's the reason politics are moving into the entertainment forums instead of the news, because people are more influenced by entertainment. That's also the reason why messages and memes are added to entertainment, as a way to sway public opinion. Normally it's to the left. I think we will have a greater voter turnout this November then the previous election. Whether it's for Trump, Bernie, the anybody but Trump crowd, etc. Clinton is establishment backed and the RNC is going to pull some tricks out as well. The public is waking up to the delegate counts vs popular vote for example.

I doubt turnout will be much higher, unless Trump runs close to Hillary, in which case that extra turnout will mean that I get to bathe in KUSA's tears on Election Tuesday evening.

There is a movement within the establishment to prevent from him becoming president. Happens anytime a non-establishment runs for President. Ron Paul for example. The thing people in the US and the world need to understand is that our election process is rigged. It's rigged in all democratic nations to an extent. We don't choose our leaders. We choose from the candidates that are approved by the establishment who will lead us. When people wake up there might be a revolution. Until that happens, the downward spiral towards total control will continue.

The people will vote for who the establishment wants. This will keep the establishment happy and the people happy thinking they still have manifest destiny.

This happens all over the world.

I don't doubt that the moneyed interests are digging in ... but sometimes people can be right for the wrong reasons, and I think this is one of those times.

Bullshit..... I am really tired of this bullshit of making politics about personalities when we all know that 1 person is not the dictator of our 3 branch system of checks and balances and oversight.

Trump is nothing but a bullshit artist. But to claim Hillary is a problem too, no. This mess was started by Reagan long before Hillary held any office. The only thing our politicians can be blamed for is being too compromising trying to defend themselves from the cold war bulllshit slurs the GOP has successfully painted the left as for the past 40 years.

Our ideas as progressives are solid, our tactics in politics suck. We do value the private sector. We do value women's rights over their bodies, and equal pay. We do value livable wages. We do value affordable health care. We do value cheaper or free higher education. The right wing has fought all those things the entire time, and democrats instead of pushing back, have allowed republicans to control the narrative which has caused our side to stupidly try to prove we aren't Stalin's communism. Hillary is a hostage, not a perp. Obama has unfortunately compromised as well, because he is dealing with a bratty obstructionist right.

Our party has been like a weak parent at the check out isle when the fucking brats scream for candy, we stupidly give it to them in hopes they will shut the fuck up.

No, sad is the rich and the religious right thinking they have sole rights to be the one group in control. Sad is their not giving a fuck about how the pay gap is killing us and using religion to divide workers on social issues. No, sorry we followed the right, became their doormat and that shit is going to stop.

ONLY ONE party and one class is to blame. Nope, we had deregulation for 40 years, we had "don't tax the rich" and and 20 years of Fucks News needlessly scaring the shit out of gullible morons. Nope, that shit isn't going to sell anymore.

Is this an April Fool's joke? Well done, if so.
