I have been guilty of this a few times, though not on purpose. I have actually taken some logical fallacy online practice quizzes (because I'm a dork) but sometimes the best way to learn is on live subjects, lol. At the expense of making myself look like a fool, of course. [emoji13]
Well that's the difference, you're looking to learn and improve. Some people just use them as more ways of deflecting attention away from the piss poor nature of their own arguments. No one should be ashamed of making a mistake; it's refusing to learn from them that's dumb.
