I like the term ... I think it's appropriate for Daystar Smile

Besides I'm basing it on the Saberhagen concept of a Berserker rather than the Norse one, although he did base his ideas loosely on them Smile

Assuming you were answering me no ... Fed Saberhagen was a Science Fiction writer back in the days. He wrote a series of short stories about human expansion into space where they met planetoid sized intelligent ships, remnants of an alien war 50,000 years past, that were deigned to cause chaos and destruction in their enemies territory. As I recall they actually contributed to their designer's demise but the stories focus on destroying and exploring these amazing, though often vicious, ships.

That's why I think Daystar "went Berserker" Smile

So whats the difference between the usual definition and Fed's definition?
Doesn't berserker normally mean causing chaos too? Have I not understood you correctly?

I dunno ... all I know is that that is what I am basing my definition on.

What a Berserker does and does well is fight hard. And I had plenty sore ribs after a weekend of rushing into enemy lines with nothing but a sword or spear and a (in my case fake) bearskin. Big Grin

That sounds interesting. Did you go to some kind of battle re-enactment?

Indeed, several. I was involved with a re-enactment team with people from Holland, Belgium, and Germany. We did re-enactments all over Europe. Our team was also at the re-enactment of the battle of Hastings for a couple of years. We also did Norsk re-enactments. I stopped when I was 24, but I still go to re-enactments as support and extra sometimes.

Brilliant! I don't live far from Bosworth Battle Field, and the last time I visited, there were people re-enacting the battles, crafts, etc. One guy had a full set of armour and sword and said how heavy all that would be. It's amazing. I'd love to do something like that. I must go again in the spring. Smile
