Spec Ops: The Line. A game that appears on the surface to be another generic military shooter but beneath it's superficial appearance lies one of the most interesting games I've ever played. It's so unrecognized because it goes to such lengths to convince you that it's another dime-a-dozen shooter just so it can pull the rug out from under your feet.

Hmm...
I always loved the original version of The Game of LIFE. The one with the revenge squares (MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!). I loved that the board had mountains and buildings, and there was enough variability in the randomness to make it fun to try over and over again. --- For video games, it's Xenogears, hands down. It's where my bouncy dude avatar comes from. It suffered from translation issues and budget cuts, but despite all its rough edges, it's amazing. Love, hate, obsession, betrayal, a weird version of Christianity, war, abuse, mental illness, loyalty, family, etc., etc. It's not the most original game. It borrows (and sometimes outright steals) from other sources, but it combines everything together in a way that feels like a mostly unified whole. It's one of the most immersive settings I've ever played in, right up there with Mass Effect.

I bought a game like it called give the dog a bone and that one never worked for some reason. Mousetrap always seemed to work perfectly everytime. Civilization call to power and command and conquer yuris revenge. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason.

Baldies is pretty fucking underrated and fun as fuck... mostly underrated because most people have never even heard of it.
