Not sure what you mean. I'm a Nationalist, and I imagine I always will be. For me, though, this is a moral position, not a legal or political one. I accept that Norn Iron will always be part of the UK and the ROI should go ahead and accept that 26 counties is all they're ever going to have.
That being said, the British presence in Ireland (and still Northern Ireland) is now, always has been, and always will be illegal.

You might mistake patriotism for nationalism there.

Northern Ireland is British soil. So they have a right to have a presence there.

No, I'm simply making the distinction between Nationalism (supporting the idea of a united Ireland) and nationalism (support for the idea of nation-states in general). But my Nationalism (as implied above) is more of an ideal that anything else.

Quote:Northern Ireland is British soil. So they have a right to have a presence there. You may as well accept that as well considering the situation will never change.
It will always be part of the UK.
I said most of that in a previous post. But as for 'British soil' and 'a right to be there', not so much. If I steal your car, it doesn't make it my car.
As an aside, do you feel that the British government of the 19th century bear any responsibility for the million-plus who starved to death in Ireland?

I do feel Michael Collins is underrated.
If only it were Eamon de Valera who was killed instead of MC.. I think Ireland might have a better 20th century

Possibly, possibly not.
I don't particularly care.
