I like what I've read of Dawkins. I read and very much enjoyed the TGD, and Blind Watch Maker. I've started Unweaving the Rainbow but haven't been back to it in a bit.

You might consider giving it a try, "the greatest show on earth", or "climbing mount improbable", or "the ancestors' tale" are all good, he's a very engaging writer who can communicate the fascinating and awe inspiring facets while getting the science right.
