From the Des Moines Register:
Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield is sending letters this week telling about 30,000 customers it plans to raise their premiums by 38 percent to 43 percent next year.
Oofda, I received one of those letters. They are having hearings in Des Moines on the matter, I'd like to attend. I can also see the proceedings turning into a riot.
I could see being tempted to participate in some unpleasantries myself.
And this ~40% jump next year follows an over 20% jump for me this year. My thinking in getting that policy was to correct a problem I had with my pre-O-care policy; copays and deductibles that made it unusable. I've replaced unusable with unaffordable. I haven't done the math (and they didn't send the # with the hearing notice), but my annual premium is most likely to be in the 5 digits next year.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
