My Music [and my Soundcloud] I Made [Fixed] - Hightech Lowlife and StayAwhileListen

I'm generally really not a fan of voice samples in music to put it mildly, but the long segment starting with "hightech lowlife" works very well because of its rhythm and weird contents.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I'm a keyboardist and I've twritten many songs....they're all in my head and fingers right now.
Is it just a music program or do you have some sought of gear at home?
I'm the exact opposite of a computer genius so dumb it down when you tell me. :-)

It's one defunct £20 music program. That's it. I use the software sequencer and drum machine funcion and fill in the notes. I know no music theory. Both songs are 127 Beats Per Minute making 8 bars 15 seconds long and 16 bars 30 seconds. The songs are made up of 1, 2 , 4 and 8 bar loops... Each loop has a "loop partner" that always appears alongside the other one to make the textures more interesting to me. It's all just me amusing myself lol.

Yeah George Carlin's Modern Man rap is very rhythmic and that is definitely my favorite sample too.

My favorite band is Orbital and they use voice samples a lot so that is why I like them.

I think I might still have the instrumental version of Hightech Lowlife in my dropbox... It's original name is Subtle Gambit and it's exactly the same but without the voice samples.

I did a bunch of stuff using Amiga style trackers back in the day, I don't know where the files are though...

It's the source for my user title Smile. I love Carlin as much for his linguistic skill as I do for his insight and sheer hilarity. The English language was putty in his hands -- though he'd flog me for using such a shopworn cliche.

Yup, I know Streetwise Smartbomb is from Modern Man too, and if the song hadn't been called Hightech Lowlife and contained that sample, it would have been called Streetwise Smartbomb and contained that instead Big Grin

I am very NOT streetwise but I am certainly a hightech low-life, hence why I picked that Big Grin

I think it was very fitting. He did write a book called Napalm and Silly Putty after all... Which I have Big Grin
