Don't ever try stand-up comedy.

RE: Judgement Day
If I ever did stand up I would play a character, the guy who was so shit at stand up that he just got up there and said "I'm shit, everyone just laugh. Please make this easy for me. Just laugh. NOW. Laugh! I'm not funny."

Some people in the audience might laugh once.

I might then say "I haven't got any material. Seriously. I'm shit. The whole stand up is gonna be like like this."

Then some people might laugh again and be like "Yeah right!"

Until people caught on that really was gonna be the whole thing and I really am shit.

If you have to explain your joke after you tell it, it wasn't funny.

If you have to explain your joke before you tell it, you're the joke.

Also, do we have a mod competent in shooting? This one needs a headshot.

Norman Lovett does - or did - a bit where he'd come onstage up to the mic, and just stand there looking at the audience. The crowd would be waiting expectantly for him to say something, but he'd just watch them. After a while, someone would laugh nervously and he'd glare at them, which brought on more laughing. Finally when he judged the tension was high enough, he'd simply say "...what?" and bring the house down.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

OK, so I lost the will to continue somewhere early on, but that was Pascal's Wager, right? This n00b is coming at us with Pascal's Wager, isn't he?

"What if god is real and he doesn't like atheist womanizers?"

"What if the Invisible Pink Unicorn is real, and it intends to eternally impale the damned souls of those who don't believe it can be both pink and invisible at the same time? What will you do then?"

Check mate, Pascal.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Or was it an allegory?

Must admit, I stopped reading it after the first paragraph and skipped to the end.
