I don't know what made me remember him, since it''s 44 years ago and these Olympics got infamous because of the attack on the Israeli team. But for some reasons I can't get him out of my head right now. He kept me glued to the screen when I was still a little child.

Anyone remember Mark Spitz?

I was in high school then. He was pretty heavily promoted.
I remember my mother and me holding thumbs for him, although we were rather local patriots when it came to sports.
I remember his name being attached to Olympic swimming back in the 80s but not much more than that. Not a huge fan of the Olympics.

Never heard of him.
I guess the age difference is showing.
Didn't he become a dentist or something?
Such is the value of swimming! (August 19, 2016 at 5:26 pm)Minimalist Wrote: Didn't he become a dentist or something? Which doesn't pay badly. But I didn't look up what became of him on purpose, since this is memory lane for me.
I was a year old.... so .... no.

One of my sisters had a poster of him. When she wasn't around I'd stare at it.
Woot ! The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
